Terra PCR Direct Polymerase Mix and kits
Terra PCR Direct mixes and kits save time and money by allowing you to skip DNA extraction and purification, and go directly to PCR amplification.
The polymerase mix comes preblended with a monoclonal antibody for automatic hot-start PCR, and allows you to easily amplify DNA targets up to 2 kb, including difficult templates (even when the GC content is greater than 70%). We offer five different Terra PCR Direct kits formulated for various sample types and applications:

The polymerase mix comes preblended with a monoclonal antibody for automatic hot-start PCR, and allows you to easily amplify DNA targets up to 2 kb, including difficult templates (even when the GC content is greater than 70%). We offer five different Terra PCR Direct kits formulated for various sample types and applications:
- Polymerase mix: This kit fits most applications, and has been improved with the inclusion of Proteinase K to enhance gel detection of the PCR product.
- Red dye premix: This kit simplifies PCR setup to a single tube. It also includes a specially formulated loading dye that separates during gel electrophoresis.
- Genotyping kit: This kit includes an extraction buffer and separate loading dye, to handle the broadest range of samples and provide the most robust performance.
- Card & FFPE kits: These kits are designed to process samples preserved on Whatman FTA cards or using FFPE fixation.
Use our PCR selection guide to choose the right kit for your application.
Terra PCR Direct contains a novel DNA polymerase that lets you amplify directly from animal and plant tissues, as well as from crude DNA extracts. This highly sensitive DNA polymerase only requires a small amount of DNA template, thereby saving you precious samples.
Note: Proteinase K is now included with the Terra PCR Direct Polymerase Mix and the Terra PCR Direct Red Dye Premix to enhance gel detection.
