Employee Assistance Program

An employee assistance program (EAP) provided by LifeCare can help with confidential counseling, resources, and guidance for many life events no matter how big or small, including parenting, senior care, home services, wellness, legal, financial services, or whatever personal challenges you might experience.

Medical insurance

We offer nine comprehensive major medical care insurance options through Kaiser and Aetna.

Our dental insurance is administered through Guardian.

Our vision insurance plan is administered through Vision Service Plan (VSP).

Takara Bio USA will provide travel and accommodation expense reimbursement for any employee, spouse, domestic partner, or dependent enrolled in our medical plan, to travel with an additional support person to the nearest location where care is legally available to obtain abortion services if the state in which you reside in does not offer such care.

• Paid holidays—8 holidays, including the day after Thanksgiving
• Company shutdown—from December 26 to December 31
• Vacation—3 weeks per year
• Sick leave—80 hours per calendar year as a sick leave grant at the beginning of each year for you and your covered family members, with the option to roll over 40 hours
• Jury duty—reimbursement for jury duty or witness leave for up to 10 working days
• Bereavement—up to 5 days off per instance
• Day of service—paid time off to volunteer with a non-profit organization for up to 8 hours per calendar year

401K

Takara Bio USA offers a 401(k) plan through Empower Retirement, with an employer match of 50% up to the first 8% employee-deferred (in other words up to 4% of your eligible gross income) and a 4-year cliff vesting period.

Voluntary insurance

Takara Bio USA and ADP TotalSource offer Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Personal Loss (AD&PL), Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability insurance administered through MetLife at no cost to full-time, eligible employees. Employees also have the option to participate in Group Whole Life Insurance through MassMutual.

Parental leave policy—Takara Bio USA will offer up to 8 weeks of supplemental paid parental leave to employees following the birth of an employee’s child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption or foster care.

Dependent care—employees who choose a health plan with a flexible spending account can set aside up to the IRS maximum for work-related day-care expenses on a pre-tax basis
