PCR Human Papillomavirus Typing Set
This kit is designed for the identification of a broad range of human papillomavirus (HPV) types using HPV type-specific PCR. This set uses two pairs of consensus primers (HPVpU-1M/HPVpU-2R and HPVpU-31B/HPVpU-2R), which are designed to amplify the E6 and E7 homologous regions of HPV (228–268 bp). Included in this set are specific primers and control templates.

Malignant types (HPV16, 18, 33, 52b and 58) types are amplified using the HPVpU-1M/HPVpU-2R primer pair; benign tpes (HPV6 and 11) types are amplified using the HPVpU-31B/HPVpU-2R primer pair. Digestion of PCR products by restriction enzymes AccI, AfaI, AvaI, AvaII, and BglII (available as Enzyme Set A, Cat. # 6604) followed by agarose gel electrophoresis identifies the resident HPV types. This PCR HPV Typing Set is optimized for use with TaKaRa Taq DNA Polymerase, which can be purchased separately.
More Information
Applications
- Identification of a broad range of HPV types
- HPV type-specific PCR
Control templates
This set includes both malignant and benign control templates for verification of PCR-amplified DNA fragments. Amplification using HPV-TM and HPV-TB as the control templates with primer pairs HPVpU-1M / HPVpU-2R and HPVpU-31B / HPVpU-2R, respectively, yields approximately 60-bp DNA fragments. The control DNA fragments differ in size from those generated from HPV templates.
