LA Taq DNA polymerase, hot-start version
TaKaRa LA Taq DNA Polymerase Hot-Start Version consists of Takara LA Taq polymerase plus a monoclonal antibody. The antibody binds Taq polymerase, thereby preventing nonspecific amplification due to mispriming and/or formation of primer dimers during PCR assembly. This hot-start version of LA Taq retains all of the high-performance features of Takara LA Taq polymerase while increasing reaction specificity and reducing background. An optimized LA PCR Buffer II (Mg2+) and dNTP mixture are supplied with the polymerase.

For hot-start long-range PCR of targets with high GC content in high-fidelity applications, we recommend using PrimeSTAR GXL DNA Polymerase (Cat. # R050A).

PCR products
PCR products generated with Takara LA Taq contain a mixture of 3'-A overhangs and blunt ends, allowing >80% cloning efficiency into T-vectors. However, the efficiency of cloning longer products (>5 kb) into T-vectors is quite low.
