Titanium Taq SP—high-yield DNA polymerase

Titanium Taq SP DNA Polymerase is a highly sensitive, robust, hot-start enzyme for use in PCR applications. It is especially useful in demanding multiplex assays. It contains the same Titanium Taq DNA Polymerase and TaqStart Antibody as our standard Titanium Taq products, but with a modified, license-free buffer formulation that is suitable for commercial and OEM use, including molecular diagnostic services and kits. The following versions of Titanium Taq SP are available:

Titanium Taq SP DNA Polymerase is a highly sensitive, robust, hot-start enzyme for use in PCR applications. It is especially useful in demanding multiplex assays. It contains the same Titanium Taq DNA Polymerase and TaqStart Antibody as our standard Titanium Taq products, but with a modified, license-free buffer formulation that is suitable for commercial and OEM use, including molecular diagnostic services and kits. The following versions of Titanium Taq SP are available:

  • A glycerol-free version (Cat. # 638517), which is ideal for preparation of custom lyophilized (dried-down) PCR master mixes that offer higher convenience and room-temperature stability
  • A lyophilized, EcoDry premix version (Cat. # 638519) enables high performance with minimal effort and maximum ease, provided as a prealiquoted lyophilized master mix that already contains all the reagents needed for high-yield PCR in each tube
  • A registered General Purpose Reagent (GPR) version (Cat. # 639292) for molecular diagnostic development and testing
  • A GMP-grade version (Cat. # R320A)* that is manufactured as a quality-assured product under GMP conditions

Titanium Taq efficiently amplifies specific genes from genomic DNA
Titanium Taq efficiently amplifies specific genes from genomic DNA. Human cardiac beta-myosin heavy chain fragments of different lengths were amplified from 100 ng of genomic DNA using Titanium Taq and two leading competitor’s hot start Taq polymerases. Optimal conditions were used for each enzyme, as specified by the manufacturer. Lane 1: 0.5 kb fragment. Lane 2: 1 kb fragment. Lane 3: 1.8 kb fragment. Lane M: 1 kb DNA size ladder.

TITANIUM Taq is active over a wide range of Mg2+ concentrations. TITANIUM was used to amplify a 500 bp region of Calf Thymus genomic DNA. The MgCl2 concentration was varied as indicated. The enzyme performed consistently through the range of Mg2+ used. Lane M: DNA size marker.

638519 Titanium® Taq SP EcoDry™ Premix 48 Rxns USD $93.00

This lyophilized PCR master mix is based on Takara's high-yield Titanium Taq DNA polymerase. This premix contains all of the necessary reagents for hot-start, high-yield PCR. EcoDry premixes are packaged as individual 8-well tube strips with optically clear sealing caps. Simply reconstitute the premix by adding PCR-grade water along with primers and template.
