ICELL8 cx CELLSTUDIO v2.0 Software

Bug: loss of data if using 'All three' filter configuration for imaging

Version affected

CELLSTUDIO Software v2.0.9

Problem description

Some CELLSTUDIO Software installations include an invalid imaging filter configuration option, 'All three'. If your install is affected by this:

  • The option will display under the Advanced tab > [Manage filter configurations...].
  • While running a chip through an application workflow, ‘All three' may display in the "Optical configuration" drop-down menu in the Select dye configuration window.

Impact

If this option is selected during the imaging stage, the resulting image files become unreadable by CellSelect Software, causing a loss of data from the chip run.

Fix

This issue was fixed in CELLSTUDIO Software v2.0.19 (released: 06 March 2020).

Please contact Technical Support for the instructions to download and upgrade to the most recent version of CELLSTUDIO Software or to request an upgrade at your next scheduled yearly maintenance site visit.

Recommendation: avoid using green channel for imaging

Issue description

Although green (Ex: 474/50 nm, Em: 524/24 nm) is a color option listed in the Filter configuration editor window (Advanced > [Manage filter configurations...]), green channel imaging is not yet fully optimized and not recommended to use.

Impact

Using the green channel to image may result in issues distinguishing artifacts from dim cells.

Recommendation

When imaging with either blank or preprinted chips, use optical filters defined only with red, blue, or red/blue.
