High-throughput surveillance for ARGs in environmental samples

To mitigate the global health threat posed by antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), it is necessary to identify and track their prevalence in a variety of environments and sample types. The potential screening method needs to be low-cost, with a short turnaround time and have the flexibility to allow modifications and addition of targets.

High-throughput real-time PCR (qPCR) is the technique most adopted for monitoring ARGs in a wide range of samples. Since 2019, Resistomap has been working on global monitoring of ARGs in the environment using the SmartChip Real-Time PCR System.

Hear Dr. Windi Muziasari, CEO of Resistomap, talk about using the high-throughput, SmartChip technology to provide information on the prevalence of the target genes in environmental samples.
