NucleoSpin DNA Lipid Tissue
The NucleoSpin DNA Lipid Tissue kit is designed for efficient isolation of genomic DNA from lipid-rich samples of human or animal origin. DNA can be isolated from a wide variety of fresh or frozen samples, such as brain, adipose tissue, and other tissue types that are rich in lipids, like fatty fish tissue.
It is often difficult to isolate DNA from lipid-rich tissue because the lipids either stop effective tissue disruption or affect the chemistry of the DNA isolation buffers. The NucleoSpin DNA Lipid Tissue kit combines enzymatic lysis and mechanical disruption of lipid-rich tissues with MN bead tubes.

MN bead tubes
Prior to binding your sample to the miniprep binding columns the NucleoSpin DNA Lipid Tissue kit utilizes MN Bead Tubes Type D (steel beads; included in kit) in combination with a common disruption device, e.g., MN Bead Tube Holder (Cat. No. 740469, see below), or a swing mill to lyse different cell types and tissues within a single procedure. Additional MN bead tubes can be ordered separately (Cat. No. 740814.50) if needed.
DNA was isolated from three different lipid rich samples using the NucleoSpin DNA Lipid Tissue kit and compared to a standard tissue extraction kit. DNA was efficiently isolated with the NucleoSpin DNA Lipid Tissue kit even from difficult tissues like brain.
