DNA was isolated from three different lipid rich samples using the NucleoSpin DNA Lipid Tissue kit (gray) and compared to a standard tissue extraction kit (blue) and the ratio of absorbance at 260 nm and 280 nm was calculated to assess purity of the isolated DNA. The optimal value of “1.8” is marked by a red line. DNA isolated with the NucleoSpin DNA Lipid Tissue kit was consistently pure.
