With or without agar

All minimal yeast media pouch mixes are available either with agar or without (broth).

Minimal media

Synthetic defined (SD) broths and agar minimal media consist of a carbon source (glucose), a nitrogen source, and amino acids. In each particular SD mix, certain amino acids have been “dropped out”. For example, SD/-Leu/-Trp contains all essential amino acids except for leucine and tryptophan.
