Yeast transformation kit and carrier DNA

The Yeastmaker Yeast Transformation System 2 provides a high-efficiency polyethylene glycol (PEG)/LiAc-based method for preparing and transforming competent yeast cells.

The Yeast Transformation System 2 protocol provides a higher and more reliable transformation efficiency than many other commonly used methods as a result of specially formulated "YPD Plus" recovery medium, which results in more surviving transformed colonies, and optimized Yeastmaker Carrier DNA-Salmon sperm DNA, which aids the uptake of plasmid DNA.

YPD Plus recovery medium

Following transformation, yeast cells are incubated in YPD Plus Liquid Medium—a proprietary formulation that enhances the recovery of yeast from heat shock. Using this protocol with yeast strains Y2HGold, AH109, or Y187, we typically obtain greater than 3 x 105 transformants per µg of plasmid DNA.

Optimized carrier DNA

Sheared, denatured salmon sperm DNA ready for use as yeast transformation carrier DNA.
