Composed of a highly stable, nuclease-resistance RNA consisting of a portion of the SARS-CoV-2 N gene encapsulated in virus-like particle (VLP) shells, PrimePath SARS-CoV-2 VLP-RNA Control better mimics typical SARS-CoV-2 test samples than DNA- or naked RNA-based controls.

PrimePath SARS-CoV-2 VLP-RNA Control is a highly stable, non-infectious positive control. By transmission electron microscopy (TEM), SARS-CoV-2-encapsulated RNA particles were found to be intact in the final storage buffer. The average size of particles was calculated to be very close to the size of natural virus (~27 nm). Most of the individual capsules were observed to have stable, icosahedral symmetry.
