DSS Takara Bio India Pvt. Ltd. is a joint venture between DSS Imagetech Pvt. Ltd. and Takara Bio Inc., established in 2011 with the aim of manufacturing and marketing Takara Bio research kits and reagents in India, in order to more adequately address the needs of the local scientific community.
DSS Imagetech Pvt. Ltd. (formerly known as Darbara Singh & Sons) has been serving the Indian life sciences research fraternity for more than 50 years as a supplier of equipment and consumables from world-renowned companies from around the globe and has been representing Takara Bio Inc. in India since 2005.
Our corporate office and manufacturing facility are both located in New Delhi, and we have a presence in 9 major cities in India (Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Trivandrum), with sales representatives situated in several other locations. Advances in Preimplantation genetic testing techniques and technologies have made a real difference in increasing the chances of pregnancy and reducing the risk of miscarriage and congenital disabilities due to genetic disorders. Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) is performed to screen embryos for chromosomal abnormalities (PGT for aneuploidy [PGT-A]) or known/suspected genetic conditions (PGT for monogenic diseases [PGT-M]).
NGS-based Preimplantation genetic testing allows the determination of whether an embryo is euploid, aneuploid, mosaic, and/or carrying single-gene mutations. But we often get limited number of cells or genetic material from the embryos to perform the detection of both aneuploidy and monogenic diseases with accuracy.
To overcome this challenge Takara Bio have developed PicoPLEX technology which is designed and optimized for unbiased amplification of single-copy genomic DNA from inputs as low as a single cell or cell-free DNA from liquid biopsies and generate high-quality DNA libraries. The simple protocol reduces handling errors, dramatically improves time to results, and reduces background. It is trusted as the gold-standard DNA amplification technology for PGT due to its accuracy and reproducibility.
