Partner with us to advance your product development

Your NGS, nucleic acid detection, cDNA synthesis, cloning, or gene expression assay will be precisely tuned with high-quality enzymes and reagents. As your primary manufacturer, we leverage our previous R&D investment to provide custom formulations of our products that are already validated for specific applications.

Streamlined process  

A high-level outline of what you can expect:

  1. Our OEM team studies the feasibility of your project
  2. Together, we define the optimal specifications for your OEM product
  3. In a streamlined fashion, we work jointly on the OEM agreement governing the B2B commercial transaction. The agreement grants the right to resell the product, defines supply and quality considerations, and covers other topics important to the business relationship.

You may find it challenging to launch a new assay, especially if it involves detecting a new target or using a new technology. If this is the case, take advantage of the knowledge we have accumulated over the years of developing our own assays and technologies.

The OEM team will assist you with selection of products from our catalog. Alternative solutions, including products that might not be marketed, might also be considered at this stage. When necessary, our R&D team will explore changing a product to suit your needs. In this case, a new development project would be initiated.

Once you contact our OEM team, we will schedule a meeting to understand the aims and scope of your project. We will answer your questions and explain the process of developing your OEM product.

Initial meetings will cover the following topics:

Your project

  1. Background—what is the project's history?
  2. Selected components—what are the roles of any Takara Bio products in your workflow?
  3. End user—will your product be sold to customers or used only within your institution?
  4. Market—will you aim for life science research, molecular Dx, biopharmaceutical, or another market?
  5. Intended use—will your product be created for RUO, diagnostic use, or veterinary use?
  6. Application—will your product be used for NGS, nucleic acid detection, cDNA synthesis, cloning, gene expression, or something else?
  7. Technology—will your application be based on nucleic acid amplification (PCR, RT-qPCR), enzymatic cleavage/ligation, reverse transcription, NGS library preparation, immune profiling, or something else?

  1. Desired components—will your product include a full Takara Bio kit, parts of a kit (subassembly), or something else?
  2. Component status—are the materials we will supply in the initial evaluation, development, validation, or commercialization phase?
