The Ecotropic Receptor Booster increases the transduction efficiency of cells that are either resistant to infection, or inefficiently infected by ecotropic pseudotyped lentivirus or retrovirus. The Ecotropic Receptor Booster consists of exosome-like particles coated with the mCAT-1 receptor. When applied to target cells, fusion of the exosome-like particles with the host cell plasma membrane temporarily increases surface mCAT-1 receptor, thus allowing for efficient viral transduction.The Ecotropic Receptor Booster renders cells that cannot usually be transduced with ecotropic psuedotyped virus (e.g. human celllines) susceptible to viral infection.

The Lenti-X HTX Ecotropic Packaging System allows you to produce very high virus titers from lentiviral vectors for the purposes of transferring exogenous genes into cells and tissues. The Lenti-X HTX Ecotropic Packaging Mix 2 is a proprietary combination of plasmids that expresses the viral proteins necessary for high-efficiency packaging of lentiviral vector transcripts into infectious, ecotropically-pseudotyped, lentiviral particles. The MLV ecotropic envelope glycoprotein enables mouse and rat cells to be transduced with high efficiency. The biodegradable nanoparticle-based Xfect transfection reagent transfers the packaging mix DNA and your lentiviral vector into Lenti-X 293T cells (Cat. No. 632180) with very high efficiency. It is the specific combination of these rigorously optimized components that allows your 293T cell cultures to produce extremely high titers of safe, replication-incompetent lentivirus from any of our Lenti-X System vectors, or from any other lentiviral vector. The Lenti-X GoStix can be used to determine whether virus production is within a usable range or for selecting the best time to harvest your virus.
