Soil DNA isolation—NucleoSpin Soil
NucleoSpin Soil for the isolation of total DNA from soil microorganisms includes two alternative lysis buffers and an additional Enhancer SX, which can be combined with both lysis buffers. The resulting four different lysis systems make the kit suitable for all types of different samples, which is important because soil is very heterogeneous in pH and the amounts of organic or inorganic matter, such as humic substances or polysaccharides.
NucleoSpin Soil for the isolation of total DNA from soil microorganisms includes two alternative lysis buffers and an additional Enhancer SX, which can be combined with both lysis buffers. The resulting four different lysis systems make the kit suitable for all types of different samples, which is important because soil is very heterogeneous in pH and the amounts of organic or inorganic matter, such as humic substances or polysaccharides. The silica membranes in NucleoSpin Soil Columns are optimized for quantitative DNA binding. NucleoSpin bead tubes, containing strong ceramic beads, allow efficient lysis of microorganisms in the sample. NucleoSpin Inhibitor Removal Columns are included for convenient elimination of contaminants.
NucleoSpin Soil can process up to 500 mg (wet weight) of starting material. Depending on the individual sample, typical yields are in the range of 2 to 10 µg of DNA. The eluted DNA is ready to use (undiluted) for subsequent reactions such as PCR, restriction analysis, etc.
