Anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody
This product is an anti-CD20 mouse monoclonal antibody. The CD20 antibody was raised against the N-terminus of CD20 and can be used to detect human CD20 protein by Western blot or CD20-positive cells by immunohistochemistry. CD20 (encoded by MS4A1 in humans) is a B-cell-specific surface molecule that is expressed during most stages of B-cell development. The normal function of CD20 is not well-understood, although it is thought to play a role in B-cell development. High CD20 expression is characteristic of most B-cell malignancies, including non-Hodgkin lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. CD20-targeted therapies for these cancers include Rituximab, a chimeric monoclonal antibody that recognizes CD20 and destroys B-cells.
It has been reported that C-terminal mutations of CD20 are related to Rituximab-resistance (Mishima et al. 2011). This antibody recognizes the N-terminal region of CD20 and can be used to detect CD20 protein regardless of C-terminal mutational status.
