Glucagon detection
Glucagon is a hormone consisting of 29 amino acids, with a molecular weight of approximately 3.5 kDa. It is synthesized in pancreatic alpha cells and is secreted after processing. It promotes an increase in blood sugar levels, a role that is in direct opposition to that of insulin. When the body falls into a low blood sugar state, glucagon acts in the liver, breaking down stored glycogen, transferring sugar into the bloodstream, and maintaining homeostasis of sugar concentration in the blood.

Antibody for glucagon detection
This glucagon antibody can be applied towards the immunohistochemical (IHC) detection of human glucagon in paraffin-embedded tissue and frozen tissue sections. The polyclonal anti-glucagon is raised in guinea pig against a human glucagon immunogen.
