Y-box binding protein 1 (YB-1) is encoded by the YBX1 gene in humans. It binds to splice sites in pre-mRNA, regulates splice site selection, and stabilizes cytoplasmic mRNA. YB-1 acts as a transcriptional regulator by a) controlling the interaction between eukaryotic translation initiation factors and mRNA, and b) binding to the Y-box motif found in the promoters of genes such as multidrug resistance 1 (MDR1) and HLA class II genes. YB-1 gene expression has been associated with lung cancer and the response to chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer.
This product is an affinity-purified IgG antibody that recognizes human YB-1 protein. The antibody was raised in mouse using recombinant YB-1 protein and can be used for Western blot (WB) detection or immunohistochemical (IHC) detection of human YB-1 protein.
- Target Name: Human YB-1 protein
- Antigen: Human YB-1 recombinant protein
- Target Entrez Gene ID: 4904
Recommended antibody concentration (the optimal concentration should be determined empirically):
- Western blot: 1 µg/ml
- Immunohistochemical techniques: 1–5 µg/ml
Lyophilized: stable for 5 years at 2–8°C. In solution: stable for 2 years at –20°C.
Lyophilized from an antibody solution containing 1% BSA in PBS and 0.05% NaN3. To use, reconstitute in 0.5 ml H2O.
