Reticulocalbin-1 is a calcium-binding protein that belongs to the elongation factor (EF) family and is located in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). In humans, reticulocalbin-1 is encoded by the RCN1 gene. It contains six conserved regions with similarity to a high-affinity calcium-binding motif known as the EF hand. Other functions besides calcium binding have been proposed for reticulocalbin-1 in mouse, but its role is not clear. Expression of reticulocalbin-1 in human endothelial and prostate cancer cell lines demonstrates its localization to the plasma membrane.
This product is an affinity-purified IgG antibody that recognizes human reticulocalbin-1 protein. The antibody was raised in mouse using recombinant human reticulocalbin-1 protein and can be used for Western blot (WB) detection, immunohistochemical (IHC) detection, or immunoprecipitation (IP) of human reticulocalbin-1 protein.
- Target Name: Human reticulocalbin-1 protein
- Antigen: Human reticulocalbin-1 (C-terminal) recombinant protein
- Target Entrez Gene ID: 5954
Recommended antibody concentration (the optimal concentration should be determined empirically):
- Western blot: 1–5 µg/ml
- Immunohistochemical techniques: 0.5–5.0 µg/ml
- Immunoprecipitation: 3 µg per reaction
Lyophilized: stable for 5 years at 2–8°C. In solution: stable for 2 years at –20°C.
Lyophilized from an antibody solution containing 1% BSA in PBS and 0.05% NaN3. To use, reconstitute in 1.0 ml H2O (final concentration 100 µg/ml).
reticulocalbin 1, EF-hand calcium binding domain; RCN1, RCN, RCAL, proliferation-inducing gene 20, PIG20, FLJ370411.
