Podoplanin is a type I integral membrane glycoprotein with diverse tissue distribution, expressed at high levels in lung, placenta, and skeletal muscle. In humans, it is encoded by the PDPN gene. The exact function of podoplanin is unknown, but it is thought to be involved in cell migration, motility, and adhesion. Podoplanin is required for normal lung cell proliferation and alveolus formation at birth, and has been proposed as a marker for lung injury.
This product is an affinity-purified IgG antibody that recognizes human podoplanin protein. The antibody was raised in rabbit using a synthetic peptide and can be used for Western blot (WB) detection or immunohistochemical (IHC) detection of human podoplanin protein.
- Target Name: Human podoplanin protein
- Antigen: Human podoplanin synthetic peptide
- Target Entrez Gene ID: 10630
Recommended antibody concentration (the optimal concentration should be determined empirically):
- Western blot: 5 µg/ml
- Immunohistochemical techniques: 1 µg/ml
Lyophilized: stable for 5 years at 2–8°C. In solution: stable for 2 years at –20°C.
Lyophilized from an antibody solution containing 1% BSA in PBS and 0.05% NaN3. To use, reconstitute in 1.0 ml H2O (final concentration 100 µg/ml).
