Niban belongs to a group of related proteins encoded by the FAM129 gene family in humans. It was originally cloned from a rat cancer cell line. Niban controls the phosphorylation of several transcriptional regulatory factors, including EIF2A, EIF4EBP1, and RPS6KB1. Niban protein is expressed in various types of thyroid tumors but not in normal thyroid tissue. High levels of Niban expression have been reported in heart, skeletal muscle, pancreas, white blood cells, and prostate, with moderate expression in colon and spleen. Niban is thought to be involved in the endoplasmic reticulum stress response.
These products are affinity-purified IgG antibodies that recognize human and rat Niban protein. The antibodies were raised in rabbit or mouse using recombinant protein or a synthetic peptide and can be used for Western blot (WB) detection or immunohistochemical (IHC) detection of human and rat Niban protein.

Recommended antibody concentration (the optimal concentration should be determined empirically):
- Western blot: 5 µg/ml
- Immunohistochemical techniques: 1 µg/ml
Lyophilized: stable for 5 years at 2–8°C. In solution: stable for 2 years at –20°C.
Lyophilized from an antibody solution containing 1% BSA in PBS and 0.05% NaN3. To use, reconstitute in 1.0 ml H2O (final concentration 100 µg/ml).
