Caveolae are small domains on the inner cell membrane that are involved in vesicular trafficking and signal transduction. The FLOT1 gene encodes a caveolae-associated, integral membrane protein, known as flotillin-1. Its function is unknown; however, it has been proposed that flotillin-1 may act as a scaffolding protein within caveolar membranes. Flotillin-1 is also known as an integral membrane component of caveolae, reggie-2, and rareg.
This product is an affinity-purified IgG antibody that recognizes mouse and rat flotillin-1 protein. The antibody was raised in rabbit using a synthetic peptide, and can be used for Western blot (WB) detection or immunohistochemical (IHC) detection of mouse and rat flotillin-1 protein.
Cat. # 18951A/B:
- Target name: Mouse/rat flotillin-1 protein
- Antigen: Mouse/rat flotillin-1 C-terminal synthetic peptide
- Application: WB, IHC
- Specificity: Reacts with mouse, rat, and human flotillin-1
- Target Entrez Gene ID: 14251, 64665
Recommended antibody concentration (the optimal concentration should be determined empirically):
- Western blot: 2 µg/ml
- Immunohistochemical techniques: 2 µg/ml
Lyophilized: stable for 5 years at 2–8°C. In solution: stable for 2 years at –20°C.
Lyophilized from an antibody solution containing 1% BSA in PBS and 0.05% NaN3. To use, reconstitute in 1.0 ml H2O (final concentration 100 µg/ml).
Integral membrane component of caveolae, reggie-2, rareg
