The septin gene family of nucleotide binding proteins were originally identified in yeast as cell division regulatory proteins. Septin 5—also known as CDCrel-1, HCDCREL-1, peanut-like 1 (Pnutl1), and platelet glycoprotein Ib beta chain—is encoded by the SEPT5 gene in humans. A translocation involving the MLL gene and the SEPT5 gene has been reported in acute myeloid leukemia. Alternative splicing results in several septin 5 variants. septin 5 is known to interact with septin 8 and parkin 8; mutations in the parkin 8 gene are implicated in dopaminergic cell death and consequent development of an autosomal recessive form of Parkinson's disease.
This product is an affinity-purified IgG antibody that recognizes human CDCrel-1 protein. The antibody was raised in rabbit using a synthetic peptide, and can be used for Western blot (WB) detection, immunohistochemical (IHC) detection, or immunoprecipitation (IP) of human CDCrel-1 protein.
- Target Name: Human CDCrel-1 protein
- Antigen: Human CDCrel-1 C-terminal synthetic peptide
- Application: WB, IHC, IP
- Specificity: Cross-reacts with mouse and rat CDCrel-1
- Target Entrez Gene ID: 5413
Recommended antibody concentration (the optimal concentration should be determined empirically):
- Western blot: 1 µg/ml
- Immunohistochemical techniques: 2 µg/ml
- Immunoprecipitation: 3 µg/ml
Lyophilized: stable for 5 years at 2–8°C. In solution: stable for 2 years at –20°C.
Lyophilized from an antibody solution containing 1% BSA in PBS and 0.05% NaN3. To use, reconstitute in 1.0 ml H2O (final concentration 100 µg/ml).
Septin 5, HCDCREL-1, peanut-like 1, Pnutl1, platelet glycoprotein Ib beta chain
